We are thrilled to learn that artist Carolee Schneemann is among those being honored by the College Art Association Women's Caucus for Art with a 2011 Lifetime Achievement Award. Schneemann is a multidisciplinary artist whose radical works in performance art, installation, film, and video are widely influential. We will be publishing Correspondence Course: An Epistolary History of Carolee Schneemann and Her Circle this October. The book is edited by Kristine Stiles and is a collection of Schneemann's correspondence over forty years.
We're also proud to acknowledge our other authors who have previously been honored with a CAA Women's Caucus for Art Lifetime Achievement Award: Margo Machida (2009), author of Unsettled Visions: Contemporary Asian American Artists and the Social Imaginary; Joanna Frueh (2008), author of Clairvoyance (For Those in the Desert): Performance Pieces, 1979–2004; and Faith Ringgold (1994), author of We Flew over the Bridge: The Memoirs of Faith Ringgold.
