Today’s University Press Week Blog Tour

Start with Princeton University Press, where Dorothea Von Moltke, co-owner of Labyrinth Books, is interviewed about the business model of independent bookstores and their relationship with university presses. Next head over to Indiana University Press and read former intern Nico Perrino's piece "University Presses: An Essential Cog Within Our Society’s ‘Sophistication Machine.'" Then at Fordham University Press, director Fredric Nachbaur shares some thoughts on how university preses "emphasize scholarship by being witnesses to global events." At Texas A&M University Press author and Houston Chronicle columnist Loren Steffy writes on the lasting impact of TAMU Press on his father's field of nautical archaeology. And finally at Georgetown University Press, publicist Jackie Beilhart writes about Less Commonly Taught Languages and how university pressess are uniquely talented in creating scholarly material for these languages.
