upw-logo-2014Welcome back to the University Press Week blog tour! Today’s theme is University Presses in Popular Culture. Start at University of Pennsylvania Press where they highlight the books they publish for a popular audience. Two presses discuss academic books that have recently been turned into movies. Princeton University Press‘s Alan Turing: The Enigma was the inspiration for the upcoming film The Imitation Game, and the University Press of Mississippi‘s Walt Before Mickey has also become a film. University Press of Kentucky features their forthcoming biography of blacklisted Hollywood screenwriter Dalton Trumbo. Georgetown University Press looks at how their books have informed some recent popular television shows including Turn, Sleepy Hollow, and The Assets. And at University of Wisconsin Press, they write about some of their titles that have been particularly relevant to breaking news stories. Enjoy all these great posts!
